A little while ago, I was in a park with a girl, and she said that my face was 'like a postmodern representation of masculinity.'

I'm fairly sure she likes me, but that comment has me totally confused. I know that postmodernism is all about there being no absolute truths, so she could be saying that my face is a mess. Or she could be saying that she's attracted to me in a roundabout way...

How would you interperet it?

my favorite "just for fun" saying up 'till now when asked, for example, what do you think of...this painting, building's architecture, etc. was: "i think it has a certain naive immediacy". i think your friend has surpassed that with her phrase. she must be quite a creative young lady. anyway, i definitely don't think she was being critical, at all.

Your probably read too much into it. Just go with your gut feeling. However if I had to make an assumption about this girl on account of her comment, I would say she is probably the wrong type of intellectual. (Just a guess here though, nothing to take too seriously )

ask her directly.
If you own up to being confused about it, she may respect you more. I think its a good thing tho.
also trust your gut feeling. did things feel ok, relaxed comfortable.
Did it feel like she was being mean when she said it?
hope this helps.

tell her to to take her revisionist dogma and fly. tell her not to suppress the 'other'. ask her if she wants to explore the mysteries of interpersonal coupling, without the restrictions of contemporary identification through fashion.

Dude, she thinks you're hot... in a non-typical new school kind of way.

Very round about but she digs you nonetheless.

she is simply scanning your DNA with her intellect and giving her thoughts the right to speak out loud.
