How can you tell if someone is signed onto AIM if you are not signed in?

I am on a school computer without AIM and I want to know if my friends are on AIM. How can I tell without signing onto AIM?

You can't unless you are signed on.

go to meebo.com and sign in on aim. it's like aim on a website, you don't have to download anything.

to see if anyone is on aim, you either have to log in or log someone else in.
