Yesterday my wife (mid forties) asked my how old I thought she looked.
“Well” I said. “looking at your legs, 25. Your bottom, 28. Your body 22. Your face 29 and your hair 21”.
“Thank you darling” she said.
“Hang on a minute” I said. “ I haven’t added them all up yet”

i do not want to think that you would be serious as to tell your wife something like that. women are very touchy about hair looks an weight. i bet your a wonderful guy and your wife beautiful. so be careful in what you say

If I could only count the number of times I hear people say that. When they ask, they are fishing for a complement. In all reality most people are not going to be honest so they will say to a 40 year old, "oh, you look about 29" the 40 year old then blushes and says "oh thank you, but I don't think so" when in all reality that is exactly what they wanted to hear. Now if you were to say to that same person "I guess you to be about 42" they will either get offended or embarrassed.
I don't make it a point to ask anyone that question. I just voluntarily tell them my age if it gets brought up. I am not ashamed to say I will be 40 this year. I have had many fun years in my 20s and 30s, and now I want to just relax, spend time with my husband and children and put my focus on God and my Savior Jesus.
