She was hoping the guy would show up at her sister's funeral.
This was a test by a famous American Psychologist used to test if one has the same mentality as a killer. Many arrested serial killers took part in the test and answered the question correctly.

Jealousy. Sibling rivalry is the norm in many families.
I have fought with my siblings heaps of times, but I would never consider killing them.
What makes some people commit crime and others not.....the answer is in the way of their thinking.
For some people if your partner was to cheat on you, the logical thing for you to do would be to split up, and give your cheating partner their freedom. For others that option would never occur to them or would be completely wrong. For those people the only logical answer would be murder.
In this case perhaps the sister made a nasty comment about this guy whom her sibling met, or perhaps she knew how to contact him but would only reveal that information over her dead body, or maybe there was some other reason that was completely unrelated to this mysterious man.

To the person who posted that answer, please stop damaging the reputation of psychologists. No respectable psychologist would convict a killer based on one single question. Do your research. Even if the supposed test contained more of such questions, there is no solid evidence for its accuracy. It's just your common sense. Which unfortunately, is unscientific.

The guy was to kill for! I didn't get this one quickly enough, so it's already been answered. She needed to get the guy's number. But of course, that motive wouldn't hold up in court. The DA would "find" some other motive!

i'm no psych major, in fact i've never even taken a course for it, but i'll have a go at this question for fun.
a) her sister killed her mum
b) her sister was married, or involved romantically, with the 'dream guy'
c) the woman was insane
i'm sure none of those are right, though, LOL d:

why would she be "in" a funeral for her mother first of all? is that part of the trick? anyways, I think the answer might be...she was insane with "love" and killed the closest thing related to her? no that can't be right BUT I would like to know the answer!
