well,it used to be a nightmare.
About 60% of India's population is below 35.Many see this as an asset because we will have the largest working population in the coming years.This is considered as an asset against China which has adopted the one child policy.As a result their pouplation in declining and also ageing.It will be a big challenge for China because it's econmic growth depends on FDI.A numerous facteries have come up thr.So,in the coming years,they will face shortage of workers.
Yes,the government do face challenges in governance.sometimes government funds may not reach the needy.One of India's former PM used to say that,if the government spends Rs 15,only 10 paise reaches the people because of the middlemen.Overall, we have succeded in overcoming all these and economy is booming which will be benefitted by all these people.

To India its population is an asset, to the other countries its a nightmare since they have labour shortage problems and what ever labour they do have require high salaries and thus the end product becomes uneconomical.

Most countries are trying to boost their citizens to have more children, but alas they have lost that zeist to make love and produce. Indians still follow Kama Sutra.

part of it is an asset part of it is a nightmare at the moment it looks like its going to be an asset if a majority of the population is educated and can be employed with a fair pay because majority of indian population is the youth boosting future growth in the country rapidly on problem is corruption if we can eliminate that then we ccan quickly eliminate poverty

Dude.......1.2 billion UNCONTROLLED population.......obviously a nightmare......travel in trains........u will understand........stand in queues at post office, banks, ATMs, electricity bill payment centres........ASSET?? I dont think so.....And if u see......US one of the developed coutries......low population......same with Japan, England or any developed countries.......now u only decide.....asset or nightmare........
