I like Tempe Brenan, but i never read any Scarpeta novels.
I just want to hear suggestions.

I, too, am a huge Kathy Reichs fan. Patricia Cornwell is a wonderful writer, but I've never really been on the edge of my seat with her books. I'm also a fan of James Patterson and John Sanford (the Davenport series). Good luck.

I say definately Lisa Jackson. Alomost useless and Absolute concern were tremendous! i'm on the library waiting record for Shiver. Cornwell is okay.. she began getting off beam slightly, yet has come back round at the same time as she went again to the pathologist books (Kay Scarpetta). Southern go replaced right into a DUD! Sandra Brown- she has good books too. She does write romance, yet thrillers as well. Her thrillers are proper up there with something. also- try Kay Hooper. good books in case you are able to stretch your mind's eye to slightly paranormal, esp, or similar abilities.

I prefer the other Cornwell, Bernard, his historical battle stories are fantastic.
"The Gallows Thief" is a bit of a mystery with a historical setting.

If you want to stay firmly in the mystery genre, give Patricia a try. At worst you will just hate her writtings and will never read them again; or you might find a wonderful author to add to your lists.

Patricia Cornwell, by far. She is an awesome writer. Do a search on amazon.com and see.
Highly recommended. John Saul is another good one.
