geez if you were only a kid you shouldn't be expected to understand fully what was happening, besides, people show their emotions in different ways.

No as a child you would be too young to understand. Many people do not know how to show thier personal emotions amid a group of others and do not cry at funerals. A recent trend has become people having 'celebration of life' parties instead of traditional funerals in which most people do not cry. It isnt disrespectful at all.

Everyone reacts differently, and some times the persons life was to the point where they had no reason to live anymore. The lady who lived across the street from me died at the age of 93 a few years ago she had been in a nursing home drugged up for over a year. She was like a grandmother to me but I didn't cry because I knew she was only suffering in life.

Crying is not required at funerals. People are allowed to express sorrow any way that they want. Don't let anyone tell you anything different. Your auntie didn't realize that you were a child and she expected you to act as if you were an adult.

Do not be deterred from others saying "he is only a child..he does not understand'. Many children do understand, they are coping with the only mechanism they know how. All people are different, although many follow the crowd for a sense of not being "with the group". Do what works for you.

No, it's not bad. Different people have different reactions. I start cracking jokes that are extremely unfunny. I'm awful. Each person has a different defense mechanism for coping.
