I was really sick and laying down sort of half awake and I lifted my hand as if to pet a cat and to my suprise it felt as if there was truely a kitty there but for only a second. Is it also possible my cat could have had an out of body experience and come to see me during my time of sickness?

It is definitely possible that your cat is spiritually connected to you. In Native American beliefs, the spirits of the dead come back to help guide the living. Perhaps your cat is the spirit of a higher being or a loved one who has passed. You seeing your cat when you were sick is a sign that you will be okay.
Also, the cat is a very powerful animal. Having her there may have given you strength to face what you were going through.
I hope you are feeling better.
And don't listen to everyone else. You're not hallucinating.

A true 'Totem Spirit' could have easily been there.
The hardest thing for most people to let go of is the belief that it just isn't possible. 'Vision Quests' are usually something that takes a bit of time to do, especially the first time as you have to break with the feeling that it "just cannot be done".
If this was a 'spirit animal' (Totem Spirit to me), then it is highly likely you had one trying to get you to use your own abilities to help you get better. There are a great many types of 'Feline Totems' and each one has a slightly different set of parameters.
If you are thinking your cat had a n out-of-body experience with you........ well anything is possible I suppose, but that is not within my set of beliefs so I cant help you there.

That is Sooo Kool! Yes. I think it is possible.
I love cats, and they do the most wonderful things in real life, why not on the astral plane, too?
I have a ponytail on top of my head that looks like a pineapple when I sleep, cause it keeps my hair clean for the next day.
I woke up this morning, my cat was standing over my head very gently batting it back and forth!
How this is relates I guess? Is...Don't they always just seem to give ya just what ya Need?! And how do they know that? So yes, I think it was you're spirit cat. :)

That happened to me right after my cat died. It felt like a real experience - I felt the bed shake as if she jumped on it and I started petting her fur...but it was early in the morning and I had been sleeping - I like to think of it as her spirit coming back to visit - even though I'm sure it was just me half asleep....but who knows..it was very real...your experience could have been real, too....the important thing is that it was a comforting feeling, which we'll always remember....

It was your kitty.My little doggy comes to see me all the time. I'll be doing something,and see her from the corner of my eye.I think it's my new border collie but,when I turn around to get the ball, she's gone. New Miss Petunia is fast asleep on the sofa,so I know it's not her! Don't ever think your past animals arn't with you any more, they are!

It's hard to say. Our brains can do odd things when we are either unwell or in that half waking stage. It might have been that your brain "tricked" you into thinking the cat was there. But I'd like to think it was your cat doing what it could to comfort you.

where you at home during this experience? it could have actually been your cat.
