Meet your neighbours, go to cafes and restaurants and chat to the people who work there. Say hi to people. Join a club or get a job. If you are old enough go to bars or pubs. You'll eventually meet people, just takes a little time, effort and luck.

We'll if you work, you can meet people at your work place, and also make friends with them... You can also go out with them to bars or clubs... If you don't work, you can just go to clubs, bars on your own if you aren't to shy... Look in the local news paper for events that you can go to, and look for fun things to do... something like dancing, you meet a lot of people that way!
Join the gym... there is also a lot of people!

Go to clubs, bars, social places ..that is, if you're of legal age?
Underage, the mall, the drive In, people are all over, find some and socialize and be yourself, you'll make friends in no time.
Just don't get yourself into the wrong crowd.

Just go to places that you would usually go to in your old town - there would most likely be people with the same interests as yourself.

first thing I did when I moved here a year ago was church then a few months later I got a job at a grocery store
