Honestly, how many people's families would disown them if they married or had a child with someone outside of their own race? It doesn't make you a bad person to admit that one's family is this way. My family wouldn't care but i know a lot of friends whose families would disown them for such a thing.

My family would disown me over certain things, but not my partner. I've dated numerous races, well mostly hispanic and black. Momma and daddy always said it doesn't matter what the person looks like, just as long as you love each other completely. I'm white and they still get on me for the one that got away, she was a black, beautiful, wonderful girl, but I was young and dumb. I honestly think it would take them some getting used to, especially when they see their first grandchild, but they would never say anything to me and would treat her the same as any white girl I brought home. They wouldn't disown me but they would be very surprised! My mom would probably be a bit uncomfortable for awhile but she'd never say a word about it. My father would probably have a big problem with it but he's been out of my life for over 20 years so it doesn't matter. Other than that, all I have left is a few cousins who would be surprised but wouldn't actually care.
