SCRUBS - City??

Question

Ok this is my absolutely favorite show on television, it's hilarious with an edgy dramatic side, I feel ashamed to ask this but I dont know what city it is set in, it is always nice and sunny, dr. cox wears a detriot red wings jersey a few times, he wears a shockey jersey once, but he is a basketball fan one episode he wanted to watch heat vs. lakers, Does anyone know where this show is set, I know sacred hart is a real hospital maybe someone knows where the real hospital is?

"However, the location of Sacred Heart Hospital within the fictional world of Scrubs is not stated. The Scrubs city is meant to remain anonymous to reinforce that the situations apply to all locations, according to staff.[citation needed] Cast and crew on the show refer to the location as "San DaFrangeles" — a portmanteau of San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles that is meant to encompass a large part of California. However, many fans continue to speculate about where exactly the show might take place."

Scrubs is filmed on location at the North Hollywood Medical Center (34°9′28.86″N, 118°24′31.22″W), a real decommissioned hospital on Riverside Drive in Sherman Oaks, California.

it's filmed in an old hospital in san diego (note the eukalyptis trees in the parking lot)
they never actually say WHERE it's located on the show, but elliot does have to take a train to see her boyfriend at sea world (in san diego) so the show is presumably set somewhere north of san diego - LA area?

The Show is shot around the L.A. area, on location and in studio, but I don't know if they've ever said specifically where it is on the show.

They never name a city, but it reminds me of Chicago.

i think its set in chicago. not sure though. i LOVE that show too. its one of my favorites. i watch the reruns of it every night
