I JUST added a site to my website with some SENTIMENTAL and SWEET activities for the baby shower. These are activities that would get everyone in the spirit of celebrating this wonderful little person about to enter the world (and none of them involve eating chocolate out of a diaper or sniffing mashed peas or carrots!!) Check it out, if you like!

Some classic activities at baby showers include:
*Baby shower bingo
*Guess the due date
*Guess the expectant mother's girth: guests cut pieces of ribbon or yarn to a length they believe matches the mom-to-be's tummy circumference
*Guess the baby food flavor: guests have to taste-test several flavors of baby food and try to identify them

I had a baby shower for my sis and we did many things. Here is a list:
Q-tip guess- fill a bottle with as many q-tips as possible and have the guests guess the number, who ever is closest without going over wins a gift
Advice for the years- buy some b-day cards for the baby, pick variuos years of your childs life, and have guests write some advice for that age in the card. Seal it and let baby read it when he/she is older for part of b-day that year.
Motherly advice-provide index cards/pens for your guests, have them write a question they would have asked as a new mother. Take up the cards, then pass them out ,turned over, and ask them to write their answer on the back(make sure you don't give them the same card they put their question on), take them up again and pass them out to different people and have them read the question and answer. (good for laughs)
Also, while mommy to be is opening her gifts to baby make sure to note the words of excitment she uses(eg: ooo, oh boy, thats so cute) then after she is finished simply explain to her the words that spilled from her mouth as she was "making baby"( good for laughs)
Ballon pop- put small baby objects into balloons and one special item (like a small plastic baby) who ever finds the special items wins a gift. (its funny to watch older people do this)
I hope you and yours have a great shower.
P.S.- don't forget the daiper cake you can find instructions for on party planning web sites.
