okay let me be more spacific if u were a girl with 4 years of ur life missin n u are not over 23 what do u say u were doin? what if like me u did a home invation n murder then what?

Time to be honest and show your intentions as far as the rest of your life is concerned with reference to work and a positive future for yourself and the people around you. In time it will sort itself out but if thats not possible then a working holiday around the country for the past 4 years should do it, just make sure you back up your story if asked where you went and what you did.

You were in a school or college (chose a real one but you don't always need to say what one it was exactly), but you didn't graduate for reasons you rather not talk about because you are still annoyed about the whole thing. You could even say you transfered to a few schools...
You spent 4 years working as a live in caregiver for a terminally ill relative (make up who and where it was) in exchange for free room and board, etc.. She/he passed away or another relative took over the position so you are back.
