I want to get a vacuum cleaner for my house, and I am considering getting a bagless one. I will use it for carpet and other surfaces.

The guys who professionally clean ur carpet use chemicals in their vacuum.
Is it worth getting one of those vacuum cleaners?

The wet cleaning machines are good for cleaning up things that won't come out another way, such as vomit, stains, etc. I have a friend who has one of these machines, but she runs a day-care in her home, so she has a lot of these kinds of stains. If you have just normal dirt on your carpet, a vacuum is fine, and you can get your carpet professionally cleaned after some years.

Many carpet warranties state that carpets need to be professionally cleaned once a year to keep the warranty valid. If you do it yourself, it may void the warranty. As for day to day use make sure you get a vacuum that has a HEPA filter, makes no sense to let the dust back into the carpet you just cleaned up. As for the professionals that use the chemicals, I do recommend looking into Chem-dry Cleaning, they use a carbonation process that cleans the carpets, using less harsh chemicals and no soap residue.

I would NOT use a bagless cleaner, instead I recommend a Sears cannister. I cleaned houses for a living for over 20 years and found this is the best on the market.

I would think the professional models are very expensive and you have to mess with the chemicals. Why not just get a good quality bagless and with the money saved, get the professionals to come in once a year or whenever needed??
