If you feel that strongly about it and it's putting you in a position where you can honestly say you're tired of it, drop her. If she's making herself so distant...after a while you won't notice her not being around anyways. When people are friends that long, they should care about the other friend's life and family but she obviously doesn't so don't worry about it. In the meantime, you have children and a husband and it sounds like you're doing pretty well. Focus on that, the good, other friends and friends to come.

Why would You drop a friend just because You are no longer in touch or are not the centre of Their world? Do You ever go the first mile and invite Her over for "old times sake". I don't suppose You sent Her a photo of "Number Two', did You? I have friends whom I have not seen in more than 30 years, but, and this could be a "male bonding " thing, They are still My mates and that is the way that I think of Them, and after all, isn't that what really matters?

Maybe she dropped you - sorry, but you sound like a bit of hard work. A friendship that long, it shouldn't matter how frequently or infrequently you see each other, you just pick up right where you left off. That's the beauty of friendship.....perhaps you don't see it that way though

obviously she is not a friend. i had a similiar situation. im 22 and knew my best friend since she and i were 6. well in high school she got elected to be prom queen or whatever and ever since has been very popular and way too busy. i remember the good times we share, but i have to remind myself that that is just not her anymore. she's moved, and i should do the same. thats my recommendation to you.

a friend is someone who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.
maybe it's you who needs to be dropped. have you tried calling her? the phone works both ways..and who knows, she might need you now more than ever.

Be kind. I know that I don't always call or e-mail my friends, but that doesn't mean I don't care about them. Perhaps you feel like this about some people too. If you value her friendship, why cut yourself off unnecessarily?
