I went back to school to get my ged. And am now enrolling in college. I am still only seventeen. I have a dream to be a doctor specifically a radiologist. Do you see this as impossible. I am a very smart kid i had straight a's and b's but i started skipping school because i got very depressed about unrelated stuff. And i droped out of school.

OK, the other posters have already listed a bunch of people that have made successes of themselves while being highschool dropouts, so I'm not going to repeat that.

I don't consider you as a highschool dropout. At least, you aren't one anymore. You are someone who took a break in your education, received your GED, and are expecting to go to college. To me, a highschool dropout drops out of school and never goes back, but you are planning on furthering your education.

In my opinion, your goal is not impossible, however you'll have to make sure you keep your focus and keep working towards your goal (just like every other college student). Even if you change your mind about the specific career you want while you're in college, at least you'll have a college degree!

Its entirely possible. Im 18 and dropped out of college, but am a business entrepreneur and sell auto parts and cars themselves and do rather well. Most people just work at a job to get buy, I do what I like to when I want, and with eBay my businesses have grown majorly and are both very profitable. Best is that it took very little to start. I plan on re entering college for Business Management in the summer.

If you go to college and stick to what your doing, and try hard, you can accomplish nearly anything.

I own and operate two businesses, I partied my way threw high school and never went to college, I do have several certificates in computers and eight years in the Marines. I worked my *** off to get here and would have preferred an easier rout, my brother for example is an extremely successful lawyer but went to school for it. I have a construction company and a computer networking company, I built them both threw blood, sweat and tears. Just remember one thing, "Hard work doesn't guaranty success, but success doesn't come without hard work"! School or no school, your going to have to work your *** off!!! Good luck, go for yours I wish you the best!!!

FYI--Bill Gates was not a high school drop out.

People have already listed all the famous people who were dropouts. Therefore, I'll just say that I think you'll be able to realize your dreams once you look positively at matters, make up your mind about what you really want and pursue your dream with enthusiasm and hard work.....you'll get there. Good luck!

Yes! Albert Einstein, for example.

Me! Although I didn't drop out, I slacked off and did poorly. After two years in a nothing career, I went back to school and uni. I became a school teacher - a much more prestgeous career - although not so well paid.

Go for it, mate.

It'll be harder but you can do a few years at a community college and than transfer to a University. Its good that you went back to at least get your GED but do a CC first and then way your options.

You'll be fine! Don't worry. Today, the G.E.D. is almost as good as a regular High School Diploma.
