GREEN AND YELLOW

If you mix all the colors (or just red yellow and blue) together then you get a blue-brown or a red-brown which is really pretty. Or a way to save more time is to mix red and green (which is my favorite brown) or orange and blue.

You take quite a big blob of yellow, mix a bit of red in so it turns orange. Then take small amounts of blue and mix it in until it turns brown. If you are unhappy with the colour add various primary colours to change the tone, for instance if it looks too green add red, too purple yellow or too orange blue.

green + red = brown

Another way to make brown
orange + red paint with a small amount of black paint. If you need a darker brown add more black. To make a lighter, less saturated brown, ("milk chocolate"), add white.

Orange and blue makes a kind a kind of light muddy brown.

Purple and yellow makes a darker muddy brown.

2 drops red, 1 drop blue and 1 drop yellow makes a kind of medium dark muddy brown.

So, my favorite brown is Burnt Umber, because mixing it is such a hassle.

I think red, blue, & yellow--no black or white--maybe black but that could make it look too dark. Just mix equal parts of each then you can add more yellow & or red to tweak your brown.
