"don't i hold you like you want to be held?
don't i please you like you want?
and don't i love you like you want to be loved
and you're running away
and what's your name
like i'm in the way
we waste too much time
don't i?,
don't i hold you like you want?"

please do not chase
this person any longer.
they are running away
not making it stronger.

they want to feel they are doing
everything for you -right
the holding the loving
but your part of a silent fight

you would know
if its "like you want"
it would shine through
but this really dont

they realize they are
only in the way
you need to realize
the time to go away

you are not the right person
you cannot hold me right
you cant give the right love to me
so lets just say good night

give it up and if it belongs to you it will come back and if it doesnt - then it never was yours to start with. good luck

its talking about how a the author is confussed about what to do. He/she feels that they are giving all they can to their partner, but the partner is not responding how the author would like. To me Iitalso get the sense that the 'partner' is cheating on the author saying that the partner is running away, and how the author senses that his/her love is not good enough for the other, and that his/her love is in the way of the 'partners' true wishes

though i really dont get the "and whats your name part" who knows it could just be me

what do you get out of it?

It sound like someone complaining as the person which take care do not appreciate the effort for the good is offering to that person. Maybe is offering too much.

It means the author is loving another the best he/she can and is being rejected by his/her lover. It's questioning isn't my love good for you? Who wrote this? Not bad.

I think it means "What on Earth do you want, darling?? I am doing it the way you want it but you seem unsatisfied. It seems we are wasting our time..." Applies???

Sounds like the person is insecure, and wants to please you a lot.
