It was Barry Mann who put the bomp in the bomp bomp bomp, as it was him who wrote it. However, it was apparently written to be a parody of "the nonsense words that were used in songs at that time", so I guessed he'd say it wasn't him who "dunnit", merely that he made a comment about it.
