I noticed it on a few movies that were coming up but when I saw a movie today 3 out of the 4 previews had music from other movies? Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a reason for it? Is it a good thing - why/ why not? I don't get why they can't write new stuff...

Lots of times studios tend to use "filler" music when editing trailers for their upcoming films, until they make the artistic decision on the "real" music to use. But the funny thing is, often times producers end up seeing the trailer drafts many times and gradually get used to the filler music! So they the trailers as is and we end up with lots of the same scores (usually contemporary pieces less pricy to license) over and over again.
