Yes, I know how to do this!
I used to work in a lab where we wrote on the petri dishes and removed the Sharpie with 95% ethanol.
Ethanol is part of many products available today, like hair spray, for example. You can go to the liquor store and get some Everclear, which is almost pure ethanol. It's great for removing all kinds of stains that don't wash out with water, and it doesn't usually damage materials. You might want to test it first on a non-visible part of the fabric. There is a chance that the ethanol will dissolve the marker and make the spot bigger -- hopefully with further treatments it will disappear or get light enough that you won't care. You can also try washing the fabric after you remove the marker. Ethanol is also helpful for removing sticky things like tape. In my opinion, ethanol works much better than rubbing alcohol (ispropyl alcohol) for this.
Alternatively, you can take it to the dry cleaners and have them try to remove the stain.

you can try opps or aresol hair spray, or the aresol version of shout, several times. put on, rub in , wash , do not put in dryer until you have gotten the stain out, i would give up after about six tries.

Whatever you do, do it immediately & don't dry it until you're satisfied that you've done all you can. Hairspray or rubbing alchohol when it starts to disolve rinse it through with water.
