If not, what other restaurants in the Bay Area, CA hires people without restaurant experience?

Sure they do. A friend of mine was laid off from a tech company and she got a job at Cheesecake Factory which helped her pay her bills until she got her next job. You get 2 weeks of training after you start before you get your own section.

Yeah I was kinda pissed off myself, I ordered a cheescake that tasted just like it was frozen out of the box there at the Cheesecake Factory in SF, I with the three of my friends ened up paying like $30 just for a slice of cheesecake. What a rip. Never again will I go there. Bad experience. I didn't tip the waiter either.

While im sure there's not *formal* policy...they'd probably overlook you for someone with experience...just act personable (meaning be a total kiss@ss. ) And your interviewer'll probably wanna give you a chance (:

sure they do... when I started there in high school...I had no experience and damn near broke up all the plates....so go for it!!!
