No, because that would make him a marsupial, and most marsupials are in Australia, except for possums. And I don't think sasquatch is a giant possum.
However, one sasquatch I saw had a very nice black leather fanny-pack, so perhaps the pouched one you saw had its fanny pack on backward.

if the sasquatch does have a pouch, why would you assume that it is for treasure?

wouldn't it make more sense that it be for enviromental purposes?
