I wasn't able to watch the end. I was fairly young too. This is what I can remember:
An old movie, possibly 70's
Little girl tries to squeeze through to the outside.
It's really hot inside their house
Black goo comes out of nowhere
It seemed to me that a dollhouse was on top of them and that's whay they couldn't get out. The garage, I htink , was blocked too, even the windows.

It was an episode titled "Child's Play" from a British TV show called "Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense." The surprise ending reveals that the family members are actually dolls in a futuristic child's doll house.
