I accidentally washed my new ipod shuffle. It plays music, but when I put it on the USB dock it says "USB device not recognized"

What do I do?!?!?! I've got it drying on my heater right now, is there anything else to do for it? Otherwise, it's only 2 weeks old, is it worth messing with the warranty service? Would I have to pay a butt-load of money?

PLEASE HELP! Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if I can return it, I bought it in California, and now I'm at school in Utah. Is there any way to have it sent to Apple so's they can fix it?

Franklinpzappa is correct. Take it out of the dryer right away. Air dry it until it looks like nothing happened. Then bring it to the store where you bought it. It would be easier if this was an apple store. My very wise friend took his 30gb iPod video kayaking in a "water proof" case and ruined it. He brought the unit to the store and they replaced it. I believe he was able to do this three times without any major hassle. Apple people are nice.

ADD: If you bought it from an Apple store, I'm sure they'll accomodate you. Just be sure that it looks like it malfunctioned on its own. Hehe.

If memory serves they are guaranteed got a year by Ipod....I'd take it to an Apple store if you have one available. Depending on where you bought it, there is also probably an in store warranty/service. Take it in....don't mention washing it...just say you;re having a problem. Let them fix it or replace it.

Yeah, get a new one. And don't wash it this time.
