Sounds like one and the same to me. You ever work on a farm? Seems like pushing these here keys on this board for 8 hours, telling people what to do, and earning a steady paycheck and driving to and from work in your car that you can fill up and get your groceries from the same store right next to your apartment complex, working to feed your wife and three kids seems like the simple life. On the farm we feed ourselves (8 total) and thousands of others. If I want fuel, I have to take extra tanks with me, it takes a half tank of gas round trip just to get fuel. I'm sure it's a hassle to go to the old navy, Macy's, Tiffany's in order to get your clothes, but have you ever tried to sew your own? Fast food? Fast food around here is a 4 hour chuck roast. In the city everyone complains about their 8-10 hour days, I'm up at 3:30 AM to eat my hearty breakfast, and you're damn right my wife has it ready. Now before I upset people, we are equal, we just have different jobs. She sews, laundry, cooks, cleans and nurtures, I do the manual labor, take care of the animals, tend the crops, handle the "business" aspect of our operation and bring home the food for dinner. She does the things I can't and I do the things she can't. The question should have read "the simple life or the farm life" My "work" day begins at 4:00 AM and ends at 7:30 PM, everyday, Mon-Fri. Animals don't care if you're sick, they still get hungry, still poop, still produce eggs and milk. Corn, potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, peas, green beans, squash and wheat will not grow or harvest themselves unless planted and taken care of, imagine if you city folk worked those hours and had those responsibilities, you'd riot.

Give me the simple life--no pollution, smog to breathe, no traffic, no drive-by shootings, less crime. Then there is peace and quiet, nature, and if you get tired or bored you could always drive back into the city. But for sleep and rest, give me the simple, country life.

City life you better be rich, or your time would be less fulfilling. Simple life, if your family is well known around those parts, life will be simpler.

I live in the suburbs. It's a short drive (or train ride) into the city, as well as a short drive to other indulgences such as scenic drives, mountains, and our nearby Lake. It's also a short drive to our international airport in case I ever want to visit another city or scenic countryside ;)
