Sit by the window and enjoy the scenery.
One good tip:
-When you get to the check in counter, ask about "bulkhead" seating. This is the front row of seats in coach, and they have no seats ahead of them, so they have more leg room. It also means you don't have to have everyone in your row get up, if someone needs to go to the bathroom. They typically do not assign bulkhead seating until the day of the flight, and sometimes not even until you get to the gate, so be sure to arrive on time, maybe a little early and ask about it.
Also, just make sure to have something to read, or bring your iPod/Mp3 player, etc.
Finally, pack your toiletries in a carry on bag, in case your luggage gets lost. You can't carry liquids larger than 3 ounces, but if you have medicine, or contact lenses, or something you really can't lose, put it in the carry on.
Enjoy the trip!

Here's a list of things to do:
1) Sleep.
2) Listen to music whether it be via Mp3 player, CD player, MD Player, Radio, or the airplane's radio thing.
3) Watch the in-flight movie on the big screen, or if you're lucky on the back of the seat in front of you.
4) Draw. Draw like you've never drawn before.
5) Sing, although that might piss your neighbors off.
6) Look at EVERYBODY, I mean like... STARE at them for no reason.
7) Hit on the flight attendants. (Although, I'd say this might not be approved)
8) Hit the flight attendants. (VERY unapproved)
9) Talk to the flight attendants
10) Go and talk to the pilot. (although, this might not work)
11) Dance on the aisle. (people might laugh at you)
12) Jump on your seat (the flight attendants will get mad at you)
13) Talk to your neighbor.
14) Write. Anything.
15) Make noises.
16) Look REALLY twitchy and see everybody's reaction just for the heck of it.
Alright, there's your list. Have fun, dude!

Bring a book or two. There is little that is more boring than a long plane ride. Also, bring a set of headphones; in the unlikely event that they show a movie that you want to see, you won't have to buy a set of the cheapies that they sell on the plane.

Wow. I remember my first flight, when I was 22. I went with a friend to Las Vegas. Bring gum, take a window seat not near a wing, and some music. You can't get me out of planes now. I love to fly.

Take a music player of some sort. or a book. Do what you normally do to relax and imagine your seat is an easy chair at home. There are many things in life we have no control over so try to enjoy the experience.

Books, magazines... music.
They will play a movie in such long trip... that'll keep you busy for a while.
Get some sleep aid pills at Target and shut yourself down for a few hours... that's my favorite. Makes me feel clear when I arrive at my destination and ready for the fun.
Good luck!
