Sunni Muslims are the ones who used to have the power in Iraq, and are also found extensively in Saudi Arabia. Shiia Muslims (or Shiites) are the Iranian Muslims (among others), as well as Syrian and Lebanese. There are also Wahabis and some other sects.

The Shiites are the majority population in Iraq, and are allied with Iran. Sadly, in a true democracy that means that Iraq would be closely partnered with Iran and Syria.
