I took the pill years ago and found it majorly increased my migraines. Anyone else had this problem and still found a pill/patch/shot that works?

I take Kariva, which is a generic for the brand name Mircette, and it does a fairly good job of managing my migraines. I still get one to two a month, but I know exactly when they are going to come and I have meds for them, plus I try to plan ahead and limit my stress level as much as possible around this time.

However, different things work for different people. The person who suggested that this might be a period of trial and error was spot on (pardon the pun).

As with the first post, Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. I've had migraines before but that type of BC pill didn't seem to interfere with the migraine medication.

Love the Nuva Ring, get hormonal migraines during the "off" week, so I don't have one. Leave ring for 3 wks and then start next one with no waiting week, no visitor and no migraine. Have been using since my son was born 4 yrs ago.

i've heard (though i haven't talked to my gyno about it yet, i will in a month or so when i go for my dreaded yearly) that headaches on the pill are caused by the sudden lack of the pill (the fourth week, placebo pills), and the best way to fix it, is to take the pill constantly, ie, skip the fourth week and instantly go into your new pack.
i'll be talking to my gyno about it because i cant stand the headaches i get, but i dont know for certian any side effects or whatnot.

I had the best luck with Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo.
Every other pill I have tried gives me severe headaches.
However, I don't suffer from migranes, so it may be different for you.
Sometimes with birth control pills, it's a game of trial and error to see which works best for you.
Good luck.
