I have it plugged in. I know my power cord works. I plugged it into this computer.(I have 2 laptops) The only way I can get it on is by battery. I ran a health system scan, and all it said was the a/c adapter was unplugged. (not true) Can someone please help me??? Im not sure where to go from here. Also, it did shut down yesterday from the battery dying and it said it was going into hibernation. It has done that several times, and wont turn back on with a new battery.
Thanks!

a very common problem is the AC adapter plug inside the laptop gets broken from general use. Basically have to take the laptop apart and re-solder the connector back on, or even replace it depending on how bad it is. Probably have to take it somewhere, though i wouldn't pay more than say, $100 maybe $200 in labor to have it fixed (dont get ripped off)

Similar thing happened to me last month. Turned out it was going to cost more to repair it than it was to buy a new basic laptop. so i punted for the new laptop; best move I found.
