I would recommend books by Mitch Albom. I've read both Tuesdays With Morrie and The Five People You Meet In Heaven, and I loved them both. He recently released a new one about a man who gets another chance to live his life, but I can't remember the name of it, just that it has a blue cover. Also good are some of the stories in the Chicken Soup books. I also found a great message of hope in The Lovely Bones, but you have to read the entire book and not get discouraged halfway through to really get the impact of it.

The Girl Death Left Behind, Saving Jessica, I'll Be Seeing You, and the Angel's Trilogy. All are written by Lurlene McDaniel. Admittedly, they start out very sad, but they are inspirational in the end.

I recommend the Zion Covenant series, they are written by a married Christian couple, there is a link below to a box set of the beginning of the series.
There are about 20 books in it now, it's a fantastic read and will really bolster your faith.

I loved 'The Alchemist' by Paolo Coelho (I'm not sure I got the spelling right) all his books in fact are pretty full of messages and guidelines etc... You could try also 'Le petit Prince' by Antoine de St Exupery, there certainly is an english version. I studied this book at school and its really good and very simple. I still remember quotes from it so many years after...!
