using the doughy part of a loaf of bread removes surface dirt from oil paintings. You simply scrub the painting using gentle pressure, and at the end, remove the bread crumbs using a soft brush. Don't. That patina is valuable to collecters... Jeez don't you watch Antique Roadshow or Bob Ross? If you must clean it compressed air is all I would reccomend. Good Luck

my grandmother cleanes hers with a slightly damp cloth and make sure its a soft one and don't rub the painting briskly go over it!
