Involuntary muscle movement, same thing they do when they 'accidentally' smile. They eventually learn new facial expressions then you don't get to see that Adorable "o" face much any more.

Because they are new everything is they are just getting used to the different things that they are learning to do and a 'o' lip is probably one of the easiest so they do it alot.

Because it's natural instinct for them to open their mouths to receive something to eat. They usually do that when somebody gets close to them.
