Hi, the best answer I can give for this is please see an eye doctor. The eyes are nothing to fool around with, waiting to have them checked could cause permanent vision loss.
I am the spouse of a legally blind person who would love to be able to see better every day.

I'm sorry to say that the only way to find out if you're going blind is to have your eyes checked. You can't determine if you're going blind just by giving symptoms. You should really go see an opthamologist asap. If they determine that your eyes are fine, then you may have a neurological issue or some other medical problem that will need further exploration. Don't panic, just schedule an appointment as soon as your doctors office opens, and maybe tell the nurse or whoever is doing the scheduling your symptoms because he/she may feel it's urgent enough to be seen immediately. Good luck.

Yes, it sounds like it from what you say. So I think its a good time to call your Doctor and make an appointment. The reason I say Doctor not eye doctor is because there are many things that can cause this problem. The sooner the better. Hope it turns out ok.

I would goto the eye doctor. But I wear glasses and when I take them off I can see well. Eyes change over the years ---do your self a favor and see a eye-doctor..

It is your eyes that have adjusted to the glasses you are wearing. I can't see the same but up close, and when I take my glasses off, it's even worse. Don't try to strain them trying and let them adjust, and ask your doctor for maybe corrective lenses or maybe another prescription, that is if you are young enough for corrective

the more you wear your glasses the more your eyes depend on them to see
your not going blind though (i don't think - my eyes do the same thing sometimes) if the temp blindness happens often make an appointment with your eye doctor to be sure everything is okay
