Say it, tell it to your self and after a while it will start accepting what false you have told to it. repetition is key to lie to yourself.

well, technically, who determines what a lie is? if you start telling yourself a specific statement, then you will start to believe it, whether its a lie or not, your entire reality is based around your concepts and beliefs, most people in psycho-wards started by telling themselves something extreme, now they believe it, like that they can fly, no matter if its true or not, they believe it whole heartedly.

Yep. I know someone who hates her life so much that she lies to everyone she knows about what's happening in her life. I think she does that to benefit herself. I think deep down she thinks if she tells enough people that her boyfriend is great and her school grades are top notch and her parents are happy that somehow she'll believe it herself.
