You shouldn't tan at all. It increases your risk for skin cancer. The burn is an indication that your skin has been damaged. Please take the hint.

If you burn in a tanning salon that's a sure sign they're not trained professionals. I worked in a tanning salon for about six months during university. I had to become Smart Tan certified, proving that I understand the process through which skin tans and burns. I also had to prove that I understood the UVA and UVB levels in each of our beds and know how many hours the bulbs had been used for. In those six months, I permanently damaged my skin just through gentle (never excessive) tanning.

A tan is your skin's response to harm. A burn is even worse. If you have a burn you should DEFINITELY not tan again until all the redness has disappeared and any peeling has stopped. Next time you go back, asked to be put in a bed with a lower UV rating for a shorter period of time. A tan that is developed naturally will look more natural than one you get overnight, anyways.

Keep in mind that each time you tan you are one step closer to dry skin, wrinkles, discoloration, possibly skin cancer and possibly death. I know two young girls my age (23) who have had skin cancer. They were both heavy tanners and neither was especially light-skinned. You're asking for trouble.

I go tanning...in a tanning salon. Tanning salons actually are better for you than regular out door tanning because the uva rays are monitored and they do not use uvb which are the two radiations that the sun makes up . The reason you burn is because two types of ultraviolet radiation that reach your skin: UVA and UVB. UVB radiation burns the upper layers of skin (the epidermis), causing sunburns.

UVA radiation is what makes people tan. UVA rays penetrate to the lower layers of the epidermis, where they trigger cells called melanocytes to produce melanin. Melanin is the brown pigment that causes tanning.

Melanin is the body's way of protecting skin from burning. Darker-skinned people tan more deeply than lighter-skinned people because their melanocytes produce more melanin. But just because a person doesn't burn does not mean that he or she is also protected against skin cancer and other problems

It is not good to tan right after you burn because your epidermis is already trying to protect itself thats why it has turned red.... try to wait a few days till the redness has gone away... and monitor yourself in the sunlight or indoor tanning.. use plenty of moisture based lotions because the sun and the tanning beds both dry out your skin both cause skin cancer and both cause wrinkles no matter what beauty is pain...and millions of women have been tanning for years.... i myself am naturally tan but i love the look of a all year round tan... so itan about 4times a month...about every other month...anyways i know alot about tanning because ive done all my research if you would like any other information my email is mandashoes@yahoo.com i would be more than happy to help...btw p.s please make sure you always wear your eye protectors because that is the worst damage the sun and tanning beds give....

well you probably shouldn't be tanning so often. If you're using a really strong sun screen you're in the safe zone. Most of the people i know don't tan after they burn. So to be safe, maybe you should just go get a fake tan.

Don't go tan again until you are not burned, it does not matter if it hurts or not. If you tan when you are burned then you will just burn worse and this increases your chances of skin cancer.

As a fact, tanning is incredibly bad for your skin, and if you continue to, you have a high risk of getting skin cancer. What looks just as good and doesn't do any damage to your skin is rub on or spray on tan.

Congratulations, you just won yourself a lifetime supply of skin cancer! Have a great life of having bits of your skin hacked off and receiving radiation treatments. You should not go tanning AT ALL!
