I read this amazing book called "Searching for David's Heart" by Cherie Bennett when i was like in 7th grade. It is my favorite book that I have ever read.....and i read a lot of books..no joke. There were tears on the page because i was crying so hard and i was so into the book i couldnt get a tissue to wipe my tears away. The book is about a girl and her search for her brothers heart. It touches you in such a way. All ages should read this book it is amazing. I read this story several times now and it touches my heart. It's just the best book you will ever read. And I really think that if you pass up the chance to read this then you're really missing out.
I also loved "Where the red fern grows" by Wilson Rawls. Its a book about a boy who wants 2 coon dogs, but his parents are poor. He finds an ad in the paper for two pups for 50 bucks. He works for 2 years and saves up the money. He travels out into the city to get his pups. He trains em and they become the best coon huntin dogs. In the end, the pups died( lil ann, the girl, died because she couldnt live w/o old dan) and old dan died after he had a fight with another animal. Where they were burried, a red fern grew. Its really a sad story of never giving up. I loved it a lot.

For fantasy novels, I recommend Robert Asprin's Myth series, it is light, fun, fast reading. Start with "Another Fine Myth."
Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels are a riot. They do not read in a particular order, rather sub sets need to be read in order. The stories featuring Sam Vimes are my favorites, start with "Guards! Guards!" and continue with "The Night Watch." If you just want something to read without getting tied up in a series, "Going Postal" is a fun read and stands alone quite nicely.
If you want to expand your horizons a bit, Bernard Cornwell has an excellent series of books set around the time of the Napoleonic wars."Sharpe's Tiger" would be a good starting point, even though it takes place in India during 1799.

So do I! And I also love the Harry Potter series, I just finished Inkheart and Inkspell by Cornelia Funke which are two books I really liked so maybe you could try them - Its about a man whose voice can get characters out of as well as into the books he is reading aloud... I have several books which are waiting for me and that I bought out of 'bulimia' in december, one of them is Labyrinth by Kate Mosse and I'm quite impatient to get to that one! Hope I was helpful...

Raising Atlantis - a fiction based on a lot of facts on the Mother Culture (beginning of mankind : the first sun to current days : the fifth sun), Lords of Light & Daughter of Darkness - on angels and fallen angels, using some of the past history to support the story.
Hope you will like the 3 recommendation. Enjoy yourself.

You might have to order this on-line, or at a bookstore. It's a real good book called The Ghost of the Cavalier. I couldn't put it down until I was finished and everyone else who's read it liked it too.
