Describe American Social/Cultural Events/Actions in period 1700-1775?

Well, everybody knows that there was stress caused by the two main "types" of people (Patriots and Loyalists), so I would guess that especially in major Northeastern ports, there were fights (example: Boston Massacre) and that would be social, wouldn't it? Cultural events, I don't know, Sorry I couldn't answer all that well.
