Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Every communist nation has fallen or will fall. The USSR was the pinnacle of communism in the world and the people couldn't take it anymore. On an earlier answer, the Russians didn't defeat the Germans, the German army attacked in winter and made it half way to the capital and pulled back, because they lost too many soldiers. The russians had 20 million casualties, I wouldn't consider that a victory. The Cubans may be organized, but it is practically a third worl country, along with North Korea and most of China. The only one that can improve is China by using its unlimited work force and expanding its markets for manufacturing and export. Everyone in Cuba may have health care, but it is no where near the quality of health care we have here. Inevitably all governments fall. Rome once had a democracy, and we all know what happened to that. Our government has had a good run, but it won't last forever, no government has.

China has done good for America in order for all the American cheapskates to buy inferior and sometimes hazardous products to fill our land fills. We buy their disposeable junk that breaks down or is inferior and just buy another after another. Isn't that good? Don't you wish all communist countries were capitalists so they could bury America for good??? It is going to happen. Look around at our worn out American cities full of crime. Americans use communism to survive in a world economy and don't care who suffers for it in these communist countries we use for cheap labor.

It might be a difficult leap to go from a position that says the current government is "taking away civil rights," to a position of total governmental takeover.
No, overall, communism doesn't do everyone a bit of good.

In 1917 Russia was an agrarian nation, ruled by a monarchy, and had very little industry.
In 25 years they had built up their industrial base to the point that they could take on the Nazis, and win.

No other country progressed so much in so little time as did China.Cuba is the most organized out of all Latin American Countries.Look at Haiti next door to them and compare.

well generally speaking, communism doesnt work. with one exception: Cuba. the people there for the most part are happy. but communism works there only because it is such a small country.

well in one part...crime rates are ususally low by the peons
but then the gov't is usually the one committing the crime then...
