Try a mixture of baking soda, vinegar and a little water. Make a paste and rub it in with an old toothbrush.Then clean with a damp cloth.

The safest and surest thing I know of is Goop hand cleaner. Just a wee bit and a clean white rag. Rub it in let sit about one minute and blot it up. Test it in an inconspicuous area first to be sure carpet dye is color fast. Good Luck.
