I've never seen in writing that the timing belt should last 100,000 miles. In most cases 65,000 is the change point. There is a difference between normal and sever weather usage. If the outside temperature never goes below 32 degrees and never goes above 90 Degrees . Many thing can shorten the belts life--- not changing the oil as recommended, oil additives, oil types, and excessive amount of high rpm driving. The Acura is a zero-clearance head--meaning you have bent up valves and hit some pistons. your looking at about $1700-$2300 in repairs.

Unless the Acura is a special case, most timing belts are designed to last around 60000 miles. If you were driving at highway speeds when it went then there is a chance you can bend some valves but in most cases you would just need to have the belt replaced. Either way, the motor is not "ruined" beyond repair.

Timing belt service is recommended every 60000 miles - I have seen them go much further, but it is better to be safe than sorry. The timing belt can be installed for about $150 - $250 by any reputable shop. Most cars after 1992 have relief cuts in the head to allow clearance when the timing belt fails and they are out of position with the pistons. Have it towed into the shop and get it fixed. Good luck.

timing belts last 50 to 60K miles it is an interferance engine call a junk yard your motor is caput as you have bent valves and ruined pistons listen to noone else as they probably dont know i do know motor is beyond repair you cannot bore that engine more than .020 to .030 and if you have scratched the cylinder walls with chunks of pistons the motor is gone

That depends if you drive the sh-t out of it or not. I'm not sure if you bent any valves or not. Don't play with it until you have had a pro look at it.
