You should say what system you are on, (Windows, Linux..)

For Windows, you need to enable your personal web server (aka.. IIs) and you must of course install PHP for Windows.

Follow the PHP for Windows guidelines for mapping your PHP directory as a virtual directory under the Web Sites section of IIs.

To view the actually PHP it needs to be on the Internet. I have used dreamweaver before and when I wanted to view my PHP, I would have to put it on the Internet and look at it there.

You need to be running a web server locally. Such as Apache with PHP installed.
