In a team consisting group of people, each person may be having some of skills required for completion of the assigned task. So the Management involves identifying the talent in each person and motivating the team to the success. That is why management is a social science.

easy, you cant effectively manage a group of people without understanding the inner workings of the mind. Many upscale HR directors have a degree in psychology.
