No, No, and again I say no!! There is NO diversity!

Boulder is a wonderful place. The vibe is great, the people are wonderful, I enjoy life here, and it's a very welcoming environment, but the fact is almost all the residents are white.

I am African American/Native Indian and my freshman year of college here the black population was around 2.6%....in the whole town!

It has not changed much in the last 5 years.

I was forced to take a diversity class when I transferred to Naropa! It was amazing to me how many white people thought that the town was diverse. Yeah sure, everyone is different (and even more so in Boulder), but that's how it is everywhere you go.

If you are strictly speaking in terms of ethnic background, you should look elsewhere if you are seeking diversity. The town, and especially the University, have been trying very hard to promote more diversity in the area, but it is not working in my personal opinion. Mainly, because the town of Boulder becomes more and more expensive everyday that you live here. And statistically, a majority of the people of color in America would not be able to afford a home here anyway. I know I sure couldn't.

I will say, however, in Boulder's defense that spiritually speaking, Boulder is one of the most diverse places I've been to yet and that is why I have stayed for so long. It reminds me a lot of Venice Beach....only with more white people. LoL.

I don't have any statistics on race or religion in Boulder, but because the University of Colorado is located there, I would say that it is a very diverse city, more so than elsewhere in Colorado. Boulder is well known as an extremely tolerant and liberal community. If you're looking for a place that welcomes all races and religions, I'd say Boulder is one of the best places in Colorado.

Racially it's not very diverse. Culturally and religiously it's very diverse -- lots of eastern philosophy, neopaganism, etc.

Diversity - what's that? It's a college town full of yuppies.

Very diverse, but regardless of race or religion, you'd better be liberal minded.

Does it matter? Will having a more diverse population affect your ability to get a job, perform at your job, or support yourself? I think not.
