Well you need at least a bachelor's degree in order to be a teacher, but you could just start working at company at a low level and work your way up through learning and experience to top positions. You wont be able to just start out making big bucks unless your good enough to be pro athlete, singer, or actress. Sadly pro entertainer is an occupation that only a fraction of a percent of our population succeed at. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Get into a specialized field. Me for example, I got out of high school, got a cashier job at Sears, then they thought I would make a good sales person, so i got into sales, then Lowes was looking for a saleperson for windows and doors. So I got the job, learned everything there is to know about windows and doors, within a year and a half out of high school I was getting $11.50/hr, which is more than a lot of people make out of college where I'm from. Now I'm exploring window and door specialty retailers that have sales reps making $50K + , and I can get these jobs with no degree because how many colleges teach millwork sales, and how many people do you know that can look at a door or window and tell you jamb width and depth, glass pack size, glazing specs, grille alignments, etc. Think about it.

Actually teachers need 5 years college - 4 in their major and a 5th year for teaching credentials.
The non college option is the construction trades . . .
The union has 4 year apprenticeships in carpentry, plumbing, iron work, electrician etc. It is starting at 60% of journeyman pay and taking classes at night for the bookwork. If you pass all the bookwork and reach 8000 hours on the job training, you make journeyman.

Teaching requires college.
If you don't want to go to university, I'd become a mechanic. There's still trade school you have to go to, but it's a lot shorter. If you're good, you can make a good amount of money. My bro-in-law makes about 6 figures as a mechanic. He did it cuz he needed to make money and was not good at school.

there is no promise even if you go to college you will get a great job. It all depends on what you want to do with your life. If you work hard at it, then you can do anything!

you can get the schooling while you are getting on the job training
many companies look to what you have in the way of experience--but for the really big bucks it is in the degrees and certifications
