i have a computer mic and i want to play a song and record my voice at the same time. I am currently putting my microphone next to my speaker and singing near the microphone just to record my voice and music. I've seen people just play the song and just sing on the microphone without having a hard time. Is there any kind of program or something? What can I do?

I recommend getting a multi-track recording program for this. Adobe Audition is a good choice. This is what it's designed for.

Once you have it, learn it. Basically, the steps you'll follow are these:

Load the song
Put it on track 1
Click the record button on track 2 (this doesn't start the recording, it just tells track 2 that you will be recording to it)
Put on your headphones
Turn on the mic (assuming it's all hooked up and you've selected microphone as your recording source)
Hit the main record button
Start singing
Once your done, hit stop
To save everything together, use File|Export

Good luck. I do recording and editing as a hobby. Feel free to contact me by clicking on my name and emailing me.

There are lots of programs available. Digital recording has become as commonplace as cell phones. There is also some recording software available for free downloads, although I'm not sure anymore which ones to recommend.
I actually got started in digital recording by downloading a free program years ago and playing around with it. What software you use is mostly a matter of preference. I personally like Cakewalk products and use SONAR primarily. There is a program called Cakewalk Music Creator 3 which is very user friendly, not difficult to learn, and only costs around $40. I'm sure there are many others, but again, I've used Cakewalk products for years so that's what I am familiar with.
