I thought it was good. Ironic that the every member of the leadership of the congress has said we need more troops there, but now that Bush has said OK they are against it. I can hear them now "we were for increasing troops, before we were against it"! I swear they have more waffles then a house of pancakes.

I'd love to know how you came to the conclusion that W is moving in the right direction! Let's see how his plan has worked so far: FAILURE! So whatever he says will fix it must be good, right? Let's throw more American targets into the shooting gallery!! Do you realize where these troops are coming from? They're troops already there, on their second or third deployment already and they'll just stay! They'll also send raw recruits (you know, the dropouts, drug addicts and criminals the Army is signing up these days to make their quota) before their training time is up. Won't that be swell! Untrained or completely battle-crazed mental cases trying to figure out if civilians are friends or foe. That will do so much to bring VICTORY! If anyone figures out what Victory really is, let me know. How can anyone have faith in this lying, incompetent fool in the White House is beyond me. Enjoy your kool-aid!

He didn't smirk. That must have taken a lot of willpower. Otherwise, it seems like the plan is too little too late. Hard to overcome the monumental screw ups over the last four years. I doubt that the "Iraqi Government" can meet it's commitments under the plan. But we'll see if it works or not soon enough.

He is moving in the right direction with his speech tonight. At the same time, there were people who hated him before they knew him in 2000 and those same people will continue to hate him and anything he does. It's their life support.

There's light at the end of the tunnel.
A good start for him.
Up to those in Iraq to pave the way.
Must be having tough time in cracking coconuts with late night burning of candles in planet of apes.

i disagree... i think we should go with a plan more like what senator durbin and obama both said... we need to start looking into how to get out of the situation now, we are not the 911 for them to call on and send 20000 troops every time something doesn't work the first time, they need to start to stand on their own... its definitely time to start putting together an exit strategy that will be most conducive to all parties involved

Bush's objective has always been to have Negroponte's death squads in Iraq start a civil war.
He succeeded beyond measure.
Tonight's speech was only PRETEXT.

.IS FEEDING MORE FUEL TO A FIRE,DOES THE RIGHT THING TO PUT OUT THE FIRE.SAME OLD STORY,MORE DEATH,MORE PAIN,MORE SORROW AND VENGEANCE.IS THAT THE RIGHT COURSE OF DIRECTION.HEARD NOT THE WORD OF PEACE FROM THAT MAN,IN HIS SPEECH.THE RIGHT COURSE OF ACTION IS,SEND IN ALL THE ARMIES OF THE WORLD,TAKE THE WEAPONS OUT OF THE WICKED HANDS AND DROP THEM OFF AT MY ISLAND ,WELL STOCKED WITH LIONS.LET THE HUNT BEGIN,SEND THEM ONE BY ONE .THEY WILL FEAR THE LORD OF THIS WORLD AND LIVE IN PEACE AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER AND END ALL WARS
