truthfully I think it is an excuse to get out of trouble. No one ever wants to be the blame of anything but it is very easy to put the blame on someone else than to accept what they have done. Sort of like a kid admitting they ate the cookie but blamed mom because she left the cookie jar out on the counter top.

The victim isn't to blame unless he or she is the one that initiated it. Sometimes women and men do not know how much they can send mixed messages and in some cases that is when they get raped. But in most if not all cases the one who perpetrated it is the guilty one.
That is why Flirting and teasing can be a dangerous thing. So to avoid it all don't do it and then the victim will not be accused or blamed for it.

In my opinion people who generally blame the victim either are naive and maybe feel that one gets what they deserve or just lucky to have not been violated period. I guarantee that if it happen to anyone who blames the victim or even if it happened ones child and them self had to deal with such a traumatic experience they wouldn't feel that way. I put my millions on it. No joke. Peoples minds are like umbrellas. When closed tight no matter how you swing it will remain closed, open it up and some might even get to see the big picture. We just simply have to pray for some people because we don't live a perfect world by far. lol

We see the world through the prism of our own experience. Maybe they have seen women act willingly and then claimed they were coerced. Personally having three sisters, a daughter, and a granddaughter I am a big believer of No means No. If you are an honest person you will give other people the benefit of the doubt.

It is very annoying. But their state of mind is, someone has to be to blame, and sometimes girls lie about it, cuz they made the mistake and had sex, and regret it, so they blame the guy, so the guy blames the girl. If that makes any sense.. at all. =P

That is the conservative puritanical Old Testament Christian influence on American society.
Any-, and every-, thing bad that happens is the result of sin on the part of the person it happens to.
Also, sexuality, particularly female sexuality, is the Devil’s tool sent here to tempt men and lead them astray (no doubt from their stupid, ugly, and nagging (but holy) wives).
Fundamentalists of all flavors are miserable, humanity-hating, and self-loathing people. The only thing they hate worse than sinful women is the thought that someone – somewhere – might be having fun and enjoying life.
It is their mission to spread misery to every corner of the earth. And if non-believers don’t like it, ..well…then… they will be burned, tortured, ripped apart, gutted, and have their heads whacked-off – thank you very much, and praise God.

Maybe its because, when a woman confesses that, guys think she is having a go at men, so being cruel is their way of making sure women dont hate them. i dont think it works very well.
i think some guys just dont know how to react and they dont want to seem gay by comforting women.

Although I have to admit that some women to do dress provocatively, it doesn't lend itself to a woman deserving to be raped.

Our society is sick. We insist on a double standard in many areas. This is only one of them. This is why I no longer respect 'Society'. It's all a big lie favoring the powerful over the weak.
