I would love to see someone try to invade us. Lots of gun owners here.
Bush is a pawn of the military industrial complex, big money(banks) and big oil.

First part -"how the hell they are going to get here? On plane? boat? swim?" You've answered your own question.
Plane , yes. Boat, yes. Swim, possible.
It's hard to estimate but statisics show there is between 7 and 20 million illegals in the U.S. at present.(Half of which entered with legal or forged passports and visas) Of which 57% are from Mexico. So even if you lowball at the 7 million mark that leaves 3 million from elsewhere. So lets say 99.99 percent are not terrorists, that still leaves 300.So I wouldn't doubt there are sleeper cells in the U.S.
"how are all these terrorists going to come here and start fighting in America?" Terrorists don't fight. Terrorists don't wear uniforms.Terrorists rarely use conventional weapons. Terrorists look for as much damage as possible with a single strike. The reason the IRA has survived so long is you don't know who is a member.
As much a debacle as Iraq seems, most of the insurgents are from other countries, and are terrorist wannabes who are willing to die.Well let them do it there rather than in your hometown.

I don't think many Americans are duped by this line. Not that they think we are not vulnerable to another terrorist attack by a few, coming in as tourists maybe. But any talk of large groups invading us, making us wear burkas, taking control - not going to happen.
Iraq is not the home of the terrorists. And their unconventional methods could involve tricking us to fight other people, and doing things that turn others against us. And if whatever they are doing to defeat us in our homes doesn't involve conventionally coming here and fighting, why the talk that they will be coming here and we will be fighting in the streets?

Bush probably read the The Art of War which states that one should attack the enemy (while he is sleeping) in his home where he is most vulnerable (weakest). It's a fundamental strategy in war that also takes into consideration the reduction of human toll and destruction of properties in non-combat areas. The phrase "or we'll be fighting them here" is another strategy to raise the level of 'uneasiness' among the citizens in order for them to be convinced on the sending of troops overseas to preserve the homeland.
Still, the phrase could imply that the war America is fighting is unconventional. If you think of holy freedom fighters in full battle gear landing on your shores, that conventional. But the Muslim world like Iraqi, Afghnistan, Iran, Pakistan, etc. and now Somalia, know that they can't wage a conventional war against America. So, it must be unconventional which uses age-old as well as high-tech methods to defeat the giant in her home where she is most vulnerable.

I saw a Republican senator on tv tonight say that our men fighting in Iraq for the last four years have kept terrorists out of the United States......... NOT TRUE...........there are so many of them here.......A friend of mine works for an intelligence agency of the US and said If America only knew of how many planned attacks that they have thwarted they would be afraid. They can get in our country...........we dont have a giant wall around every inch of our land. I think we should be worried about terrorists sneaking in nuclear weapons in parts through different parts of the country and meeting to assemble. They are PATIENT.
MAYBE I WATCH TOO MUCH TV.

I think that the President's reasoning was summed up best by an episode of the Simpsons:
Homer: Not a bear in sight. The Bear Patrol must be working like a
charm.
Lisa: That's spacious reasoning, Dad.
Homer: Thank you, dear.
Lisa: By your logic I could claim that this rock keeps tigers away.
Homer: Oh, how does it work?
Lisa: It doesn't work.
Homer: Uh-huh.
Lisa: It's just a stupid rock.
Homer: Uh-huh.
Lisa: But I don't see any tigers around, do you?
[Homer thinks of this, then pulls out some money]
Homer: Lisa, I want to buy your rock.

I agree totally. When I read your question in the preview page, even before I saw all your details, that is exactly what I said to myself,"How in the world are they going to get here.? I heard some caller on c-span say that there were sleeper cells ready to slip over the border and that before we knew it, we were all going to be wearing burkas. I do believe that some people get carried away with their imagination.

You are 100% RITE! That whole line is a bunch of BS. It's about conquest. But, rather than call it what it is, the US government spins it as self-defense. It's the "war on terror." We, the aware US patriots, are paying for it w/ our taxes, our image, our conscience, and, most importantly, the blood of our countrymen. It makes me sick. Especially, because I care so for this country. But, I feel powerless to change anything. Let's just hope that things get better, shall we?

It's too late for that....they are here already...it's just a matter of time.
Just because nothing has happened yet does not mean it wont..it's the attitude that we are not vulnerable that makes it dangerous.
