From what I understand, it's to get around or below 20 degrees F, definitely not what our plants have been use to. I can't move them all in, but might there be a way to assist them in surviving?

Hi, move what ever you can indoors,(garage is good) and what ever you can next to the house, or a building, together in a little group. What you can't move, get some tarps from the hardware store that is used for painting and drape those over them. You can also use boxes, paper bags, sheets, light blankets. Also,if possible drape a tarp over the group of plants by the house.

you could try creating a wind block using green house plastic. Just pound some stakes around the plants and staple the plastic to them. if it starts to snow cover the tops of the framework with more plastic but take off as soon as possible so the snow doesn't build and crush them or keep the plant from the moisture it needs. Also try winding burlap and hay or dry leaves as insulation around the shrub or tree. This works for palms/ bannas and cacti.

i live in butte county. bring in the ones you can. don't water the others. put a good mulch in the pots or around the base of the plants, and cover them with cloth sheets...like old bed sheets. you might want to call a nursery...i'm def. not an expert!! good luck with this...and stay warm!!
